Barry Feddema has over 30 years of diverse professional IT and Network experience spanning multiplexor communications hardware design and sales, telecom sales, end user operations, and hosted services architecture, build and operations.
He graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1986 with a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Electrical Engineering.
At various stages of his career he has held positions in Hardware design Hardware sales, end user operations, telecom sales and hosted services architecture and procisioning.
In 2008, Barry entered public service for the City of New York working for The Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT). Barry was a founding member of the City’s datacenter consolidation program, CITIServ, from inception to successful completion serving as an Operational Governance Council member, and workstream lead for Technology Architecture. Barry won the GovTech award for “Demonstrated Excellence in Project Management” for the design and construction of the new DoITT Datacenter that was built to support the CITIServ program. Barry was instrumental in the business case preparation and funding, site selection, design and construction of DoITT’s “Site B” datacenter. During his eight years at DoITT, Barry rose to the position of Associate Commissioner, Infrastructure Services where he oversaw the architecture and build of the city’s centralized hosted private cloud.
Barry is a lifelong resident of Wayne, NJ where he resides with his wife of 26 years and his youngest of two sons. His personal interests include stamp collecting, wildlife photography, golf and growing orchids.
